PFS, Critical Hits and Constructs

Rules Questions

Hi there, big fan first time poster. I started playing pathfinder right when the game came out with Rise of the Runelords and have played fairly regularly since, so I was interested about a PFS game going on at my local rpg store. Now unless Im crazy, I was pretty sure you could crit constructs since the change from 3.5. My critical threat seemed to have been met with frowns and denial. They told me that Constructs were objects and that they were immune to critical hits. Now, I HAVE the 3.5 conversion guide pdf to pathfinder and it explicitly states there that you can crit constructs, but I was wondering if there was any other texts I could cite.

no, you are correct.

the only creatures now explicitly immune to crits are elementals, oozes, and incorporeal creatures if you do not have a ghost touch weapon.

there are some weird subtypes i am probably forgetting, but constructs can be crit.

Okay, thank the gods. I was just kinda worried since PFS are known for playing RAW and the fact that they didn't acknowledge one of the few big changes to monsters kinda killed my desire to go to the other meetings.

ooze, aeon, elemental, incorporeal (with no ghost touch), swarms are immune to crits, proteans are immune 50% of the time.

i'm pretty sure that's everything. constructs are not in that list. neither are undead.

note that animated objects are still objects and therefore immune (constructs are different and can be crit)
