Item creation & use magic device question

Hi guys,

I was wondering if it's possible for a character such as an oracle or sorcerer to use a scroll (for example; of magic missile) to create a wand of Magic missile if Magic Missile isn't on his spell list??

I'm asking because of the text:

"Note that all items have prerequisites in their descriptions. These prerequisites must be met for the item to be created. Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item's creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed). The DC to create a magic item increases by 5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet. The only exception to this is the requisite item creation feat, which is mandatory. In addition, you cannot create potions, spell-trigger, or spell-completion magic items without meeting its prerequisites."

Also the Use Magic Device skill allows you to emulate a class feature, would it be possible to emulate having a spell on your spell list for item creation the way you would emulate it for using a wand??

Sorry if these are silly questions, I'm just getting started back into roleplaying.

So the answer to your first question is yes, you can use a scroll or a wand or another spell caster to make a wand.

UMD lets you emulate a class feature: "Emulate a Class Feature: Sometimes you need to use a class feature to activate a magic item. In this case, your effective level in the emulated class equals your Use Magic Device check result minus 20. This skill does not let you actually use the class feature of another class. It just lets you activate items as if you had that class feature."

So the answer to your second question is no, you cannot use UMD to emulate having a spell list for item creation. It only lets you use magic items that require a class feature for the purpose of using such a magic item.
