(hopefully) quick question about channel energy area

Rules Questions

when a channeling energy are all squares within 30 feet of the cleric affected or does the cleric have to choose a corner of his square to expand 30 feet from?

it is 2 slightly different templates depending on which way you use.

It's a burst centered on the Cleric. So it radiates 30 feet out from the square the Cleric is in.

How about large clerics?

I would use the intersection of the 4 squares the cleric takes up on the map.

I would say any of the nine possible intersections

Dark Archive

When you cast an area spell you have to choose an adjacent intersection for the point of origin.

Supernatural abilities are magical so should follow the same rules (though I don't think it is stated explicitly)

Grand Lodge

Bursts work the same way, described on pages 214 and 215 of the core rulebook, whether they are spells, supernatural abilities or from other sources.

The point of origin of an area of effect is a grid intersection. This particular burst is centred on the cleric (page 40). If the cleric's space is centred on a grid intersection (Large, Gargantuan or Colossal size), use that. If the centre of the cleric's space is a grid square (up to Medium size or Huge), she can choose which corner of the square is the origin.
