I am new to the world of DnD and Pathfinder, so I am not totally clear on everything.
I understand that the witch gains a familiar and that the familiar gains two spells every witch level. Now what my question is, while my witch is casting, could my familiar actually cast another spell? Or is it's power limited to using its "natural weapons" and hexes from my character's list.

Your familiar can't cast spells or use hexes at all. A witch's familiar simply STORES the spells for the witch, so that she can commune with it to prepare those spells instead of needing a spellbook.

Sorry, the familiar neither casts spells nor uses hexes. It can deliver touch spells that the witch casts, or use its natural weapons, but honestly it's usually best to keep it out of combat as it's very fragile and having it get killed is a moderate to severe inconvenience. For the most part it's just a walking spellbook with a few neat incidental uses.
