Skirmisher Ranger

If I select the skirmisher sub type for ranger, would i lose all aspects of spellcraft including the ability to id a spell being cast?

I believe you can still put points into your spellcraft skill if you want, you just don't get any spells yourself

yeah that was my only concern. my concept is to be as well versed in as many things as possible.

so that would have been a negative for me. thanks
