what weapon group is a blade boot in?

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

I searched around and couldn't find any reference to this: What fighter weapons group would the blade boot fall under? (would the brawler fighter archetype bonus apply?) I'm thinking follower of Calistria that uses a whip and kicks people with her stiletto heels.

Also curious if other people think acrobatic steps/nimble moves feats or the feather step slippers/spell would work to mitigate the penalties from walking with your blades out.

blade boot drawback: When the blade is extended, you treat normal terrain as difficult and difficult terrain as impassable

Feather step states: "For the duration of this spell, the subject ignores the adverse movement effects of difficult terrain, and can even take 5-foot steps in difficult terrain."

nimble moves: "Whenever you move, you may move through 5 feet of difficult terrain each round as if it were normal terrain" (acrobatic steps upgrades to 20 feet/round)

I'd say Feather Step would work, but not Nimble Moves. Feather Step states that you ignore the... effects of difficult terrain so since an extended boot blade makes you suffer the effects of difficult terrain when crossing normal terrain, you ignore that effect. However, if you come across difficult terrain, you're affected by impassible terrain so it still would treat actual difficult terrain as impassible. Nimble Moves, on the other hand, allows you to move through actual difficult terrain as if it were normal terrain. Boot Blade doesn't make the terrain difficult, it just subjects you to difficult terrain penalties when crossing normal terrain. What it would do, however, is allow you to treat actual difficult terrain as still difficult rather than impassible, I'd say.

Scarab Sages

Technically they're not in any Fighter Weapon Group as far as I can tell. If you're running this character in a home game I'd say your GM should probably allow them in the Close weapon group, but if it's for PFS you may be out of luck. That being said, the abilities you mentioned should work just fine to mitigate the drawbacks associated with having the blades out in a Blade Boot.

Are the Fighter Weapon Groups immutable or are they used to provide guidelines as to what would go where? If I were the GM I'd put them in the close group like Ssalarn suggests.

EDIT: I answered my own question. The rules say GMs may add other weapons to these groups, or add entirely new groups, and I don't see anything in the PFS guide to indicate that they are locked. I don't think you'd have a problem talking a reasonable GM into adding them to a weapon group.
