iOS.
I have several apps that I've used on both Android and iOS, on almost all of them, the iOS versions have features the Android versions lack. I suspect it's because while IOS authors are generally incentivised to keep up with current IOS specs, Android apps are written for the lowest common denominator of Gingerbread.

Android users however are more reluctant to pay for stuff. They tend to just stick to free versions of apps even if it means living with ads.
And presumably you'd be smart and code it as a universal app so that it would run properly on an Ipad as well.

Android here.
FWIW, I almost always buy the full version of an app if the limited/trial version impresses me enough to want to continue using it at all. Generally, if something is good enough for me to want to use it then I'll ante up. If the app doesn't live up to my needs/expectations however, then even giving it away for free won't influence me to use it. Similarly, I would be unlikely to shell out money for the full version of an app just to see if the full version is less frustrating than the free version.
Happy coding!

This is also me.
I'm actually a little surprised that LWD is doing their iOS port of Hero Lab first, because Android is gobbling so much market share.
