Ghost touch attack question!

Rules Questions

Quick question about running a ghost monk.

Can he flurry with either corrupting touch or draining touch? Link to the template is here: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/ghost

The corrupting touch says it's a touch attack but used as a standard action, so I don't think it's viable for that. The draining touch says it's a touch attach but doesn't say its a standard action to use, so it makes me think that it is doable?

I think we have a case for this already: The normal monk can flurry with Stunning Fist. Since the Corrupting or Draining touch attacks are already unarmed then they should meet the conditions for flurrying. Nothing in the rules (I believe) say that touch attacks aren't qualifiable for flurrying.

The draining touch would be nasty as a flurry touch attack! I think I'm stealing that idea for a game I'm going to run!

I would say no based off this

Quote:

Flurry of Blows (Ex)

Starting at 1st level, a monk can make a flurry of blows as a full-attack action. When doing so he may make one additional attack using any combination of unarmed strikes or attacks with a special monk weapon (kama, nunchaku, quarterstaff, sai, shuriken, and siangham) as if using the Two-Weapon Fighting feat (even if the monk does not meet the prerequisites for the feat).

A "touch attack" like either of those abilities is not an unarmed strike or a special monk weapon (if they were they would also do his unarmed strike damage), I would say that they do not qualify, stunning fist and all the things like it (or that go with it) can be used as any of the attacks since it is an "unarmed attack" or "unarmed strike" as its also called.

The best rule to use in a question like this isn't "Where in the rules does it say I can't?" but instead to ask "Where in the rules does it say I can?"

EDIT: and before someone tries to say something about stunning fist only being usable a set number of times per day (and round I think)...I know this and used the wording "as any of the attacks" to mean "as any one of the 'blows' in your flurry"

Okay, I see your point Drakkiel.

What about taking a normal full attack rather than using flurry? Corrupting touch seems to rule it out (it's explicitly a standard action to use despite the fact that it's a touch attack). Draining touch doesn't state anything other than it's a touch attack.

That's true...it doesn't specifically say that it's a standard action. All the other special attacks do but that one states its only a "touch attack." Based off that if the ghost gets 2 attacks then I don't see why it can't use both to use Draining Touch.
