Liberty's Edge

So the map legend for the Accursed Halls dungeon in the Thornkeep adventures is scaled for 1 square equals 10 feet. I was going to just double the dimensions on my large flip mat, but it wouldn't fit lol. At least not without drawing each room seperately and I don't have that many flip mats.

So how do you get a dungeon that large in scale down to size for play in 5 feet increments? I guess I could just copy the map as is and just say it is 5 feet instead of 10. But that wouldn't be the true scale.

Any suggestions?

When our group plays, the GM generally only draws the room we are having an encounter in to scale. We use another map or a portion of the main one to draw a mini version of the dungeon as we explore (to note paths, doors, and such).

Aren't there also maps specifically for Thornkeep?

@Justaworm Not for the Accursed Halls, which hampered me when I ran it. It was pretty confusing.

When it comes to expanding the 1 square = 10 feet situation it's time to open a box of Dungeon Tiles.

The Accursed Halls, unfortunately, are too big to fit on a single map of any kind. I just draw each room individually as the party encounters them. It's a bit of a pain, but in my opinion, it also can create a feeling of being "lost" in the dungeon as you keep drawing and erasing.

Are there enough dungeon tiles to do the biggest room?

In the main box, yes. Not every stair or wall necessarily but the floorplan dimensions? Yep.
