In case anyone is still playing this and is using the Pathfinder RPG rules as I am, I'd like to contribute my conversion of Dr. Davaulus I made for my campaign. I reworked him as an alchemist, but I kept some of his previous expert levels. As the alchemist cannot cast misdirection, which I deem necessary for Davaulus's masquerade, I created unique ring for him (see below). Here's the statblock:
.

Dr. Reiner Davaulus CR 9
XP 6.400
Male human expert 2/alchemist 8 (Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player's Guide 26)
NE Medium humanoid (human)
Init +4; Senses Perception +13

Special Attacks bomb 14/day (1d6+4 acid or fire, DC 18)
Alchemist Extracts Prepared (CL 8th)
3rd—cure serious wounds, displacement, haste
2nd—barkskin, cat's grace, false life†, invisibility, see invisibility
1st—bomber's eye*, cure light wounds, expeditious retreat, shield, true strike
*See the Advanced Player's Guide
†already drunk
----- Tactics -----
Before Combat Doctor Davaulus drinks his extract of false life every day. If he gets to the basement, he waits for the lift to come down again, then goes to area G5, and prepares himself for the party's arrival by drinking his mutagen and his extracts of barkskin, see invisibility, shield and cat's grace.
During Combat Davaulus drinks his extract of displacement on the first round of combat. He considers himself a gentleman, even though his interests run to murder and cruelty. He engages in physical combat only as a last resort. If cornered, he uses his swift poisoning ability to apply giant wasp poison to his dagger.
Morale Davaulus attempts to flee if brought below 10 hit points, but fights to the death if no escape seems possible. Loyal to the Red Mantis, he does not surrender.
Base Statistics Without his mutagen and extracts, Doctor Davaulus's statistics are Init +2; AC 16, touch 12, flat-footed 14; hp 57; Fort +7, Ref +8; Melee +1 human bane dagger +7/+2 (1d4/19–20); Ranged bomb +11/+6 (4d6+4 acid or fire); Dex 14, Con 12, Cha 14; CMB 18; Skills Bluff +15, Diplomacy +15, Disable Device +6, Intimidate +6, Perform (oratory) +12, Sleight of Hand +12, Stealth +15

Bookmarked! Great stuff, Zaister. My players are nearing the end of EoA so I will get to use this fairly soon. Thanks!

I'm also going to be using this. It's a perfect fit for Davaulus.
The only change I'd make is the ring. I'd imagine he would have the formulae Undetectable Alignment. It's not necessarily misdirection, but it's strong enough that people detecting his alignment could assume he's just neutral.

My group is getting closer to the Davaulus intro in Seven Days and I want to make this my decision point on using this alchemist markup or PF converted Davaulus as written. See spoiler below for my question.

Spoiler:
Anyone ran him as Zaister's alchemist? How did it work out? There are a couple of nasty fights in the House of the Blessed Maiden, and I just wanted some feedback on how alchemist Davaulus plays into the mix?

In my campaign the temple was on alarm after the heroes had infiltrated it using a combination of darkness and blessing of the mole, but the Doctor managed to slip out under their noses into the basement. There, as indicated in the module, he made a stand in the chamber with the big vats with Rolth and an assortment of plague doctors and clerics. It was a tough fight for my group but thanks to clever tactics and some luck, such as the hexcrafter magus taking Rolth out of the equation with a flying grapple and the fighter cutting down six goons with a single Great Cleave action. Davaulus's bombs really scared them, though, and for some time the fight looked like a close call, but in the end the party managed to overpower the doctor.

Anyway, it was a memorable combat, and much more so than had I used the original stat block.

Sadly, my Devaulus was immediately grappled by a monk and never had a chance to do anything of note... and I do mean immediately. The brilliant plan was for the impossibly high AC Crane Style monk to leap up onto the catwalk and run rampant to distract guards while the rest of the party infiltrated the place. Turns out he headed straight for the Doctor on the correct assumption that important warehouse offices would be upstairs.

That said, I like the build.

I think I'm going to use this. If things get too dicey, one of my players always has his summon to beat up on :).
