Die Rolls are Changing

Several of us have had issues lately wherein the dice differ either between our preview and our committed post, or a prior post and the post seen the next day.

I don't have proof but will try to catch it with screen caps. It's possible it is a mass delusion.

This is the first place we noticed and commented upon it, since all the initiatives were eight at first, then they weren't.

I have not been able to reproduce it at will either.

I think this only happens when you get caught with some server problems or a restart (aka all your dots disappear), its happened to me once in said instance.

I'm not certain. There was another occasion we commented on it in-thread, and it happened again just before I posted, when a pbp player rolled a 4 in preview, wrote up her miss actions, then the roll changed to a 13(?) or so on the actual post.

Seems to me that the dice in preview shouldn't be the same as the dice in the post. Since it would allow a person to re-preview the same roll until they get what they want? No big deal in the normal forum, but for play by post?

Re-Preview is supposed to give you the same results, so if you rolled a 13, clicking preview again still give you 13; this allow (in PbP) to post actions in the same post the rolls are in.

the only cheating that can be done is when there are multiple rolls.

Yup, the rolls 'stick' through multiple previews and even through deletions and reposting, to prevent cheating.
