Lion-O (thunder cats)

This one was a slam dunk. Cat folk paladin with a claw bracer (thorn blade) and a re-sizing dagger (grows into a greatsword).

20pt buy

I think it grows into a bastard sword....

there used to be a magic dagger in 1E that did something like that. i think it grew into a short sword tho, not a big sword.

I think that his dex is higher, either that or he has a high acrobatics skill. He used to be able to flip out of the way of Mumm-Ra's blasts, if you are doing the original Lion-O.

Its blade can extend or retract, being in the form of a dagger when resting, and a full-length broadsword form when at full strength and power. The blade itself is near indestructible, shown to be extremely strong, durable, and laser-sharp. It is able to slice through hardened materials such as steel and solid stone with relative ease.

So maybe a dagger that becomes bastard sword? The closest "broadsword" is the nine-ring broadsword (1d8, x3), but you could redsign it to fit your needs. Also a sun blade wouldn't be to shabby, light as short sword and bastard sword damage. Plus the blade is great against undead (Mumm-Ra).

As for stats I think his Dex should be a bit higher; A point or two, but at least at 13 he qualifies for dodge and the like. Lion-O is nimble, not as much as Tygra or Cheetra.

good reflex save boosted by charisma?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's 15 dex, 13 +2 from catfolk.

Tygra would be a ninja/ inquisitor type.
Cheetara = monk
Panthro is also monkish, but is more like a barbarian/fighter with nun chucks.
Wily kit/ Kat are useless NPC meet bags/ plot hooks. Or rogue or bard.

Hey, the twins were funny.

What would Snarf be? Animal companion?

Sword is intelligent

And can give "sight beyond sight".

Plus you can just throw away the pants from your starting outfit and rock some insane tighty whities.

Or tighty blue-ies, in Lion-O's case

LOL, wasn't it more like a wrestler's singlet than tighty undies?

Does anyone know if the new Thundercats was renewed?

It's still stuck in hiatus limbo.

It was kind of a crappy cartoon.

I liked the new one, it was more relate able than the old one... Had much more of an RPG feel to it.

The new one was classic and the voice actors were great, especially Mumm-Ra!

The way Catfolk should be.

But then, I loved Caroline Eades' picture in the Bestiary 3.

I was really disappointed with the picture in the ARG. I prefer Manthropomorphic over Anthro. Her art in B3 is how all catfolk (calling them cait sith since they wouldn't refer to themselves as catfolk).

Rat folk are scavers and halflings are called kith. It's not like gnolls are hyenalings or something.

Don't get me wrong; there's plenty of room for races ranging from anthropomorphic animals to theriomorphic people. I just happened to particularly delight in the very Thunderan aesthetic that resulted. The ARG artwork more inspired Khajiit than catfolk, to me.

Personal preference, nothing more, but I'll be shamelessly vocal about it. :)
