2-14 Chasm of Screams BBEG Stats wrong? (Spoilers)

Last night I ran 2-14 and when I got to the BBEG my players, who have played this system longer than me and know the rules far better, said they believed the stats to be incorrect, specifically the casting stats.

The concentration bonus listed is +11, but the more experienced players seemed to think it was higher as her caster level is 9 and she has no stat that is only a +2 bonus (her lowest stat is her 16 Wis). It came up when she tried to cast while standing next to a PC.

Like I said, I'm not as knowledgable as they are and really don't know the answer, so I'm all ears.

The BBEG is a advanced variant Night Hag, CL 9, str21 dex19 con22 int18 wis16 cha 17.

I guess my question is what is the correct casting stat she should be using and what is the correct concentration bonus for her and why?

You really need to put the title of the adventure in the thread title. Very few people reference them by number. I had to go look it up to know which scenario you were talking about.

Caster level for this creature should be 8th. Unless that is what the variant means???

It looks like this creature has not been advanced properly. Looks like they added a level rather than used the advanced template.

Advanced adds +4 to all abilities, which hasn't been done. So all the DCs are two too low.

Charisma is the default casting stat for SLAs.

As it should be: Concentration = caster level 8th + Charisma +5 = 13, and as it has combat casting +17 for casting defensively.

As it is written = caster level 9th + Charisma +3 = 12, and as it has combat casting +16 for casting defensively.

(Concentration for the base unadvanced creature is 11, which may be where it came from)

Note that no scenarios list combat casting in the concentration stat. Even though that is the most likely use you will have for concentration. You always need to check for the combat casting feat.

"Advanced" can me two things when referring to creatures. One is the Advanced template, the other is when you increase the number of hit dice, which is what it sounds like they did on this one. Yes, it's a confusing duplication of terms.

Also, there is no real guidance on the harsh environment other than some minor wind effects. I would interpret this to be sub-zero wind chills from severe winds in a very high altitude environment. Any direct suggestions?

Which "Advanced" is it supposed to be? The template or increased HD?

Based on the stat block, I would confirm that it is Advanced in the sense of extra HD.

The morlocks try to force PCs backward into the shaft - how exactly would they force anything other than encouragement through tactical positioning?

The hag, in order of tactics, goes ethereal and then casts sleet storm, which is not going to be all that effective...
