I try to think of villains that appear more than once...

Spoiler:
Of course, Kafar from The Devil We Know comes to mind first. No one really pays him attention and he gets his will because of it. While many dislike the series, I like a cunning enemy who actually wins!

Dalirio Teppish is a villain, but far from greatest. He gets wiped clean in the first scenario, then miraculously returns in the third part.

Adril Hestram is one, though very few people (players) seem to know he is actually dead and a traitor. I actually had been thinking a loooooong time where Adril Hestram is, and tried to include him in some of my scenario submissions back in the day...

As of late Tancred Desimire has been around quite a lot, but isn't a villain as such. Desimire isn't activitely fighting the pathfinders themselves, concentrating more on Zarta Dralneen instead. I'd still name him the greatest, as you actually meet him without having to fight him. He keeps working on the background and putting obstacles in the Pathfinders' path.

Can't do anymore. Forgot to put them there, sorry. Thought this was the GM Discussion area...

I flagged it needing a spoiler tag though. Hopefully it helps.

I think Mr. Black from the Golemworks Incident was amazing. Thematic, good spell loadout (ie smart wizard), and very hated by the party by the time they encounter him. I have seen a quite a few groups where he dimdoors out, so maybe he will be back!

That person in Rebel's Ransom.
That thing in high-tier in No Plunder, No Pay

Guys. Sheila Heidmarch. Come on. That chick is out to get us.
Agreed! Sheila is the biggest villain I have seen.

Ah, but Eric, thanks to you and your party's actions in Race for the Runecarved Key, Sheila Heidmarch will never again lord over the local Pathfinders.

Most GMs are players, too, and would prefer not to see spoilers in advance for the scenarios they haven't played/GMed yet. Especially Eyes of the Ten, which many people haven't gotten to yet, even if they have GMed enough to have a bunch of stars next to their name.

Solely in terms of playing the villain, I loved 4-02: In Wrath's Shadow.

Because you can just have so much evil, evil fun...:
The room is long enough that light doesn't reach the back corner, but I still make sure they hear some ominous cackling. Back behind them, a stone door has collapsed, sealing the passageway entirely. As far as they know, the only way out is forward. The ghasts charge from behind shadowy pillars and they see the sharp glass embedded into the floor, covered in blood. The party keeps back towards the entrance and the safety of their companions.

Some party members attack the ghasts, while others prep with spells or potions. Powerful spells scour them from the shadows. The mysterious voice chuckles some more and suddenly the enlarged alchemist is blinded from the darkness. No one can see the figure so they fail their spellcraft checks. The last of the ghasts takes a near fatal hit, when a wave of dark, nauseating energy gives it a final surge of grim power.

The party's eyes get wide as they see the entombed cleric stride forward, dressed in decaying robes of a long-forgotten god and shouting in Ancient Thassalonian, a language no one knew to pick up. Rather than a mace, it has claws that look just like those crazy ghasts they have just finished knocking to the floor.

The in-game shock is then replaced with out-of-game shock, as they realize this cleric has some sort of evil melee domain ability, the ability to paralyze with a melee attack, solid defensive abilities, and Quick Channel. And every time they retreated from his channel radius, he still had spells left over to blast them with.

That blind alchemist standing in the doorway with his shaking wand of CLW is the only thing that kept this from becoming a victory for the Runelords.

Give me an amazing setup like this AND a seriously built villain and I will run your scenarios all day long for no credit at all. Just the fun of seeing them scared.

Could the Eyes of the Ten spoiler be set off from the others? I feel as if it's a bit different.

In a case like this, where the post talks about spoilers from multiple scenarios, I'd try to have a different spoiler for each scenario, clearly marked as to what scenario it's about. That way, people who have played/GMed one scenario but not another can choose which spoilers to see.

But I agree that Eyes of the Ten is a bigger spoiler than most. Like I said, there are plenty of people who haven't played that yet, including at least one four star GM I know.

Looks like I am going to be in your area from April 18 through May 17, so you can put out Play, Play, Play! signs all over your store.
