This is my first mage character I have played in any game similar to pathfinder so I have a quick question. In the Witch description under familiars it says this:
"Learn from a Scroll: A witch can use a scroll to teach her familiar a new spell. This process takes 1 hour per level of the spell to be learned, during which time the scroll is burned and its ashes used to create a special brew or powder that is consumed by the familiar. This process destroys the scroll. At the end of this time, the witch must make a Spellcraft check (DC 15 + spell level). If the check fails, the process went awry in some way and the spell is not learned, although the scroll is still consumed"
Does this mean that if I find a scroll of zero level spell that I can't use but it is a wizard level zero spell I can teach it to my familiar, through this process? For example: acid splash, if I find a scroll for it can I teach to my familiar and then use it as a cantrip for myself?
Sorry if this is a really "nooby" question, I haven't had much experience playing games like this.

A witch can only teach spells to his/her familiar that are on the witch spell list. If the witch could learn all the spells the wizard can learn, in addition to all the hexes and to the fact that a witch has access to some nice otherwise divine spells, it would make the witch unbalanced with the wizard.
