I have a 2nd Level Alchemist (Cryptbreaker) focused more on throwing and ranged weapons. I have Point Blank Shot also. I spent my money on Different alchemical items such as Holy Water, Pellet Grenades, Alchemist's Fire, and such for versatility. Also if you use a ranged weapon (I do) I would purchase Weapon Blanches for your ammo. I did spend 2PP on a wand of CLW, it's handy since it's in the Alchemist's Spell list, you can use it without Use Magic Device checks. If you do purchase a wand, you may want to get a spring-loaded wrist sheath to store the wand in. It has saved me a couple of times. I personally used my gold to help with weight/encumbrance issues and items to deal with any kind of baddie.

The most fool-proof way of handling encumbrance is to not dump strength. If you combine that with a handy haversack (2000 gp), your weight problems for most equipment are pretty much over. For more extreme problems, muleback cords are an option, but unfortunately they share a slot with the cloak of resistance.
Spring-Loaded Wrist Sheaths are from the Adventurer's Armory.
I would personally not advise multiclassing as an alchemist, as that has the potential to be a very powerful class once all its abilities come into being.

The cheap way to get a small encumbrance boost is to buy a masterwork backpack.
Also, grenadier (and other archetypes) are all-or-nothing deals. You take the archetype and it applies to all levels in that class. PFS rules let you tweak anything about your character before you play your first level above the first, so you could still take the archetype of you wanted.

Yes it is 1/3 the price but it vanishes at the end of the scenario/module if you don't use it. If you're going support either get a wand of cure light wounds OR a wand of shield with 2 PP, you can use these as an alchemist without using UMD. Save up your gold for better things when your fame reaches it, such as a headband of intelligence.

This is not true. Items created by an alchemist are noted on the alchemist's chronicle sheet, and last until use.

Can I replace weapons with a Masterwork version of my weapons ? Basically selling my weapons then buying the masterwork one.
You have to sell the weapon (getting half price for it) , and then buy masterwork.
Don't worry, unless you have a strength bow or something the money is a paltry amount even at your level.

Yes.
Except for firearms, masterwork weapons are always available. You can simply sell back your starting weapon and buy a masterwork one for the normal masterwork price of that weapon (300+base cost).

Ah, then my GM called it incorrect. I'll be sure to correct him when I play one of my alchemists again.

IIRC, items an alchemist creates using their Craft Alchemy skill are, indeed, permanent until used, but cannot be given to another PC.
They can be loaned out during a scenario/module, and used, but if the item has not been used by the end of the adventure, it returns to the inventory of the Alchemist.

I would do this.
Wand of Cure light wounds - 2PP
Potion of Gaseous form - 2PP (grappled, or if you just need to fly!)
Traveler's Any-tool - 250gp
If it's on a chronicle - Cloak of resistance +1
Mithril chain shirt is always available, and an excellent item. I usually buy it early (also only weighs 10 lbs, so it will help with encumbrance)
otherwise what items do you have available on your chronicle sheets?
Classic treasures Revisited has my favorite item for low str characters. Bag of holding, minor. It's 1000gp but only holds 50 lbs (I find that is usually enough) haversack might be better, but I'm so greedy with my gold lol.
Muleback cords are great, but they use the "back" slot (same as cloak of resistance) so I tend to avoid them.
