FYI: I'm talking about the video games.
Now I don't want to a actually give the players a portal gun. I just like the idea of a sassy intelligent artifact(or perhaps mad wizard in a control room) that likes to test players.
This could work as either a one shot or as part of an ongoing campaign.
What I'm looking for are general thoughts on conversion,plot,puzzle rooms,etc.
I'm thinking about this as a high level trial of some kind, but it could be scaled.

I think it might be really interesting to create a dungeon that focused on mobility and 'platforming'. Where jump becomes a life or death skill, and abilities like a teleportation wizards shift. Maybe bring in 3.5 spells like benign and baelful transposition and greater slide. I've done things like attack players as they tried to cross a casm before with more mobile enemies. Might be interesting to see how that works out when players know going in that is a theme, and it happens often. Would give me a reason to make more use of the elevation and flight stands i have for the table.
