Hello,
I was just wondering, how do you get into a patronage project or anything that you give money to sit with a bunch of professionals and work on something that may be published?
Does this even exist anymore? I mean, I talkedto my friend Rone Barton and he told me that Patronage Projects don't happen everyday but I would love to get into one if there is one available. I'm very serious about publishing and working on tabletop roleplaying stuff and I would like to get in on one but tell you the truth it isn't advertized at all so if anyone else has more detailed information or anything like that it would be much appreciated. :)

We're between projects at Kobold Press (formerly Open Design) right now. You can still join Midgard Tales, but all of the design is complete. We have had the voting for the next project, but Wolfgang has been busy with a couple other items so he will probably be announcing the next project later this month or in February.
Since the last couple Kobold Press projects have been started on Kickstarter, it is pretty likely the next one will be too. Keep an eye on the website KoboldQuarterly.com and here on the Paizo boards watch the section for Compatible Products from Other Publishers for the announcement.
It sounds like you're pretty anxious to get involved right away so you should consider joining as a senior patron which gives you more opportunities to participate and also allows you to pitch ideas for the next project. That said, I personally found it extremely helpful to do a couple projects as a standard patron where I could learn about the process before stepping into larger roles. YMMV.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing you on the next project!

I would love to join in on something, anything really. I just hope it happens soon and I can find it.

I've run the last two projects for Kobold Press (with Ben McFarland on the most recent one), and I highly suggest them for people who want to help design. I'm actually running my upcoming kickstarter for a Misfit Studios gaming project on lycanthropes in such a manner. Wolfgang and Ben...and many others...are helping me on the project. Join in the fun. I go live on Feb 1st. Designing starting in March, when the kickstarter ends.
Kobold Press should be offering up something new in a month or so, as well--from what I understand.

There are currently no Open projects at Kobold Press, mostly because we did 3 of them last year and had one carry over from 2011. So, the schedule is full right now, and will be for at least another month or two.
Kobold Press WILL have another Kickstarter and/or patronage project as soon as we clear the decks a bit. That one will be announced in the Kobold Courier newsletter, on the Kobold Press Facebook page, the @KoboldPress Twitter account, Kobold Press blog, etc. Follow any of those and you'll hear about it.
But yes, these projects are generally fairly rare opportunities in the RPG field. Worth keeping an eye out for them when they do happen, such as Christina's lycanthropes project.

When they do come up, they are a very worthwhile experience. I'd also like to add that my (very small) contributions to Open Design projects saved me $350 in Comic Con passes this year alone. Well worth the amount I put toward Open Design kickstarters last year. The opportunity to see your name in print (even if it is simply "Additional Design By" for a couple paragraphs you've contributed) is worth the price of admission.
Quite a few productive members of Open Design projects have gone on to freelance for Paizo. You still have to pitch good stuff and follow through under deadlines though.

I think Zombie Sky Press is about finished with their It Came From the Stars kickstarter/patronage project. I'm sure the next installment in The Weird Cycle will follow a similar model, so maybe keep an eye on that.
