Twin Soul: What if I don't want to leave?

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

I was looking at the Beast Bonded archetype of the Witch and I noticed that the 10th lvl ability allowed you to take up residence in your familiar's body permanently if you wished. (The exact wording is "indefinitely") What if I don't want to leave?
Are there any precedents for leveling up while body-less?
Is there any way to boost a familiar besides the obvious feat Improved Familiar that would make this situation a viable character concept?

Nothing prevents you from leveling up in your familiar. The main issue is that you can't cast spells with somatic components.

Whats better though is having your familiar level up in you. Then it attempts to magic jar an enemy every round.

Scarab Sages

Still spell would be useful there.
I wonder: can you get a dweomer cat (sp?) as a familiar? Probably not.

Anyway, thanks for the answer. :)

Not quite true.

If you have a familiar with thumbs (monkey is great) or most of the improved familiars you have no problem casting spells with somatic components.

The super magic jar familiar trick is wonderful though.

Then could this be a sneaky way to change race to that of an improved familiar or will said familiar be too squishy for practical use as a permanent residence?

Wizard Familiars at least have half the HP of the Wizard, so unless the Witch gets some significant boosts to their Familiar, way too squishy.
