Versatile Performance

Say you have a 3rd level bard who made his versatile performance ability set with his Perform (dance) skill. He has 3 ranks in Perform (dance). Does this mean he qualifies for the special text in the Acrobatics skill, that as long as you have at least 3 ranks in Acrobatics your dodge bonuses when fighting defensively and when using total defense are increased?

No. Using one bonus in place of another when you make a check is not the same as having ranks in the other skill.
