What to do after Runelords?

This is a long way away, but I'm interested in figuring out what should be done after Runelords, both in the campaign and in a new campaign. Who has played a campaign past runelords and what have you done for the last few levels?

Also what should be the next adventure path my group and I should play after it? Are any of the other OGL adventure paths "prequels "to PFRPG paths? I'd rather not convert things from 3.5 unless I have to.


It's probably more than a real-world year away, but I'm planning to run a single epilogue session after the heroes defeat Special K. There will probably be a return to Sandpoint / Magnimar, a parade, meetings with the Lord-Mayor, the Pathfinders, Brodert Quink, etc. after that, the PCs will become high-level NPCs in my version of Golarion.

After that... I dunno. Maybe one of my players will take the reins. If not, I'd like to try running "Curse of the Crimson Throne"...

Lantern Lodge

Curse of the Crimson Throne and Second Darkness are the other prequels to Shattered Star and both are 3.5.

Grand Lodge

I was planning on running Shattered Star. Would it be better to run CotCT and Second Darkness next?


I started CotCT once and, even though the game group fell apart, I thought it was an awesome AP. Maybe the best I've read.

Second Darkness is about the opposite in my opinion. I really have no desire to run that one.
