The Merciful Healer gives up a domain, domain choice and offensive channeling and in return they can apply a mercy to one or more targets to their channelling for healing.
**
At 3rd level, a merciful healer can channel positive energy to relieve one or more harmful conditions.
The merciful healer chooses one of the following harmful conditions at 3rd level: fatigued, shaken, or sickened. When the merciful healer channels energy she can remove the chosen condition from one living creature that she heals within her channel energy burst.
... (discussing mercys at 6th, 9th and 12th)
Feats and effects that affect a paladin’s mercy also affect this ability.
**
My question is above that last line. All of the mercy feats require lay on hands - as previously only paladins could use mercies.
Does a Merciful Healer have also be a paladin with lay hands in order to have the Mercy feats? Is there a line missing about prerequisites from that line on feats?
TIA

I asked this a few weeks back, with no answer.
Likely the writer didn't notice the lay on hands requirement for those feats.
It would be nice to get some FAQ on it, as it would seem as if taking 'extra mercy' was something that was intended.

There's not a problem with it as written. Pretty sure this will end up as "No FAQ required." Writing it that way allows for future things that affect mercies to affect this ability.
-If you are a multiclasses Paladin you gain any benefits of known mercies.
-If a future class gives mercies, you could get those benefits.
-If you have an item like a bracelet of mercy it can be used by a Merciful Healer.
- If a future mercy feat does not require LOH you can take it.

Possibly, but if so I would guess more in a revisionist sort of way.
I don't see a reason why 'extra mercy' should be denied, do you? In fact, I think in the short table description Lay on Hands isn't even listed for it which might have caused the issue in the first place.
