Dawnflower Dervish (bard): does it still need wep. finesse

The Dawnflower Dervish gets dervish dancer for free without pre-recs.
Would a character still need to have weapon finesse in order to have hit+dmg coming from dex?

Dervish Dance specifically allows you to use DEX for hit and damage with a scimitar, so this archetype actually means you don't ever have to take Weapon Finesse.

The Dervish Dancer feat does not actually allow you to use Weapon Finesse with a Scimitar.

It does however, allow you to use your dexterity for attack rolls and damage with a Scimitar, if wielded in one hand, and no weapon or shield in the other hand.

This means you will still not be able to use things like Piranha Strike with a Scimitar.
