So we're rolling a new campaign. Pirate themed and the party is running chaotic alignments.
My first character was going to be a synth summoner/ blood god disciple/ half-orc sea reaver(5) barbarian but we wound up having both another barbarian in the party and another synthesist (My buddy).
So he was playing around with the idea and I came up with a character I wasn't willing to budge on the problem?
He's a Chaotic Evil demon lord who was once of legendary strength, long ago bound away, he woke up with his powers at a loss and his senses and memories dulled.
I'm a chaotic good rookie undercover Night Shroud (MC Archetype) trying to prove myself. Night shrouds are a class (Ninja/Cleric) that infiltrates evil and uses evil magics to face their foes. Weighing importance of a kill above all else.
I know he's shooting to be a lich... and i'm actually undead domain (1 domain only) which yet again is overlapping my PC. My issue is that he'll be extremely powerful, outclassing my build of dual crossbows with his build of four katanas.
Since naturewise our Charactors will inevitably be put on a path of conflict, is there any way to eliminate the threat without penalizing him or killing him?
If I turn him good he'll lose many of his abilities (Antipali) . I was looking for a way to potentially enslave him (Loosely) thus using him for good (Fits the theme of my character).
we also have a barbarian in the party who is evil, though knowing the player she'll not go on to do deeds that my character would address.

The will almost never allow an evil alignment in a game besides LE, because it's easy for good characters to work with a LE character and put their differences aside for some greater purpose, as long as they have the same goals. They'll fight, but then that can make for interesting social interactions.
In extreme cases I'll allow NE, but letting the players know they run the risk of getting themselves killed by the rest of the party if they try to do anything too extreme. CE I will NEVER allow a player to play, because there is no way that will last more than 1 session.

Yes. You, your buddy and the DM should all sit down and discuss this like adults, OOC. Does your DM want a PvP campaign? Do you guys want to play in a PvP game? Would your buddy take it personally? Or, can you two either make up a background addition (you are actually brothers- separated at birth!) or some other reason why you would work together. Modify the alignments or something.
You should NEVER spring a PvP unless it’s specifically that sort of campaign.
