move+hide?

Rules Questions

If hide is part of a move you can hide every time you move?

As long as you have some trigger to hide, such as cover, concealment or HiPS.

So if i have HiPS and a feat like Moonlight Stalker master or Step up i can end immediate move with a stealth check.

Tough question.

My table does not allow people to use a 5' Step as a trigger for an add-on due to movement. This includes drawing a weapon as a free action as part of movement and stealth.

This is debated heavily on the forums and I am not aware of an official answer to that debate.

However your table feels about a 5' Step allowing you to draw a weapon as a free action as part of a move should apply equally for stealth.

If your table allows it, then both feats you listed should allow for stealth, given HiPS.

If not, then there is still another question. Step Up is clearly a 5' Step, so that would not be allowed. But Moonlight Stalker Master is weird. It is the 5' Step that specifically says it is not a 5' Step. I think your table should then determine RAI.

I believe the intent is that it does not count against your 5' Step for the round, but it is in fact, a 5' Step. If your table agrees, and feels that you can't add Stealth to 5' Steps, then you could not use it.

If your table feels that it is clearly not a 5' Step, then Stealth could be added to the movement without question.

*All of this is my opinion of how to interpret rules, please don't take it as gospel.

My group agrees that a 5ft step is insufficient to allow for making a stealth check, though we allow using a move action to move only 5ft to allow for stealth provided the other conditions to make a stealth check are met. This is mostly because with the appropriate feats or abilities it becomes far to effective to allow the action to be performed with a free 5ft step that doesn't otherwise interupt your actions for the turn.

As Komodo noted, I don't know of an official answer and this is merely my groups opinion on what we believe to be acceptable funcitonality.
