Fate / stay night ~ Shirou Emiya

So I've been on a Fate/Stay Night kick of late, so I've thought about going about porting Emiya Shirou to PF.

For those who don't know the franchise:

Emiya is a "Magus" who's incredibly weak magically and is only really capable of "Reinforcement"(aka Transmutation) and "Projection"(Conjuration) Magic. As events unfold, he becomes more and more proficient with his specialized magic, realizing he can recreate any weapon with his magic near instantaneously. He eventually even masters the ability to create a "Reality Marble" called "Unlimited Blade Works", a pocket space where he can create endless amounts of blades with which he fights with.

So for converting him, I would think he'd be a type of Wizard; with the Creation Subschool to account for his ability to quickly make weapons. I'd then have dip Fighter for weapon proficiencies, then go EK for more spells & BAB.

I figure his Unlimited Blade Works can be mimicked with The various Create Demiplane Spells.

What I'd like is some input or suggestions for his martial ability. Should I have him go with another class? Any additional spells he should have? Are there any feats that would boost the amount of times he can make weapons? Is there any Wizard Archtypes that ditch all but one or two spell schools in lew of martial ability?


I have done a Fate campaign myself, but with Mage Ascension, not PF. Personally in PF I will go for Emiya with something like Monk with weapon master and Quiggong for his magic ability. Emiya has far to weak magic for something like wizard or sorcerer, but maybe Kensai magus could work.


To me, Summoner seems like the obvious choice. The spell list is suited to his abilities (conjuring and buffing things), and the Eidolon is Saber. You even have the first two Create Demiplane spells on your spell list, so at high levels you can create UBW.

Soul Forger Magus is another flavorful option.

Arcane Archer/ Magus, the Arcane Archer has the cool exploding spell arrows and the magus combines melee with magic very well.

Only problem with an Emiya Monk is Quigong doesn't get the spells I'd want for him... But I suppose I could homebrew some new Ki costs for said spells. It certainly is a good idea if nothing else.

I'd think Summoner would be good for most; but the thing is his "Eidolon" is quite weak because he's so weak as a Master, which unless there is an Eidolon nerfing archtype I don't think she'd ever be "weak" and more over I don't think that I'd need to make her a class feature. She's more like an Outsider that the Wizards bound through planar binding and are working towards a goal. More importantly she can be stolen, betray him, etc...

Also Summoner doesn't have any of the spells or an ability to summon weapons "that I'm aware of". Still, I'll review it's spell list and archtypes just to sure I'm not selling it short.

I hadn't seen this archtype till now; but it is quite good(especially the higher level abilities). However it trades out the spell accesses which I'd need for the appropriate spells off the Wiz/Sorc list. Still, thanks for pointing this guy out, I'm already thinking of a npc I'd want to build for it...

I definitely would do an Arcane Archer dip since, well, Emiya's future self is Archer.


Lancer would definitely be a blade sworn magus, Caster a sorceress, assassin would be a samurai, Berserker would be a 3.5 Frenzied Berserker, Rider is impossible to do and Gil is a level 20 sorcerer level 10 paladin.

Actually I'd disagree; She could easily be an Anti-Paladin who dips exotic weapons. Her mount is her paladin mount.

Otherwise, yes; the rest of those are pretty good.
