Hamatula Hide and Fiend Totem Rage powers.

Rules Questions

Fiend Totem grants...

"While raging, the barbarian sprouts dozens of wicked barbs from her body. Anyone striking the barbarian with a melee weapon, an unarmed strike, or a natural weapon takes 1d6 points of piercing damage"

The armour grants...

"Any creature that strikes the wearer with a melee weapon, unarmed
strike, or a natural weapon while the spikes are elongated
takes 1d8+6 points of piercing damage from the armor’s
barbs (unless using a weapon with reach
)"

then goes on to say...

"If she (the wearer) has the fiend totem rage power,
the damage caused by her barbs increases to 2d8+6 and
stacks with the barbed defense granted by the armor
"

So does that mean with both anyone hitting you takes 3d8+12?

Anyone?

Grand Lodge

Seems to be a "instead of" aspect.

Dark Archive

I'd say 3d8+12 since it stacks.

Where is Hamatula Hide from?

Dark Archive

Ultimate Equipment
It's a +2 Hide Armor that grants additional abilities while raging. Its price is 44215 gp.

Thanks. Found it.

A friend pointed out this might endanger the rest of the party! Some monsters might bypass you after seeing what happened to the last thing that hit you!

Dark Archive

The same could be said about any defensive ability. Barbarians aren't tanks.

My AC will be around 16 Raging!

You're right, I think one hit will be enough as the armour damage will be followed swiftly by my full attack! [Tengu: Gore, Bite, Claw, Claw - usually followed by a thumping sound as the monster hits the floor! lol]
