Phantasmal Revenge - Question Concerning Targets

Rules Questions

So I noticed this spell and read through it. It says that it goes after the killer without regard for morals.

But what about cases of multiple killers? Like if a guy got skewered by 2+ people, who would the ghost go after?

Or in the case of, say, someone creating a powerful necromantic circle that kills them, but the circle was set off by someone else. Who would it go for? The one that made the circle that killed it, or the one who set it off?

Bumping so it is readily visible. This is bugging me and I would like to see what other people think.

It's totally up to your GM.

As for what I'd do:

If there were multiple killers, the one that finished the corpse off would be the one it'd go after. If they were skewered by multiple people, whoever's blow took them to the proper negative would be it.

In the case of the necromantic circle, the one who cast it is at fault.

If it is literally impossible to determine exactly who killed the creature (that is, 2+ creatures simultaneously dealt a death blow) then I'd randomly determine who the spell would affect from the murderers.

I AM the GM, and my initial thought was a die roll to determine who gets killed, but I wanted to get extra opinions.

Thanks for the tips.

Die rolls seems like a perfectly viable round. I tend to go by the rule that when in doubt, if a die roll at all makes sense, go with it. This is, after all, a table top RPG.
