Soulknife Conversion

Conversions

I am a new member here, and I apologize from now for my english, I hope it will be good.

Anyway, I watched some posts and I didn't find what I was searching for. I saw a post where there were people talking about the psionic class conversion for Pathfinder, here is the link:

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2ke9q&page=1?Conversion-Discussions-of-Nonc ore-Classes

They were talking about all the classes, except Soulknife that, for what I see, it's an underpowered class.

My problem is: I'll play in a campaign where there aren't psionic classes. I like the Soulknife, and I wanted to use it.
My question is: Can I convert the Soulknife as a core class? I was thinking to treat him as a Monk, but, as I said, I'm new here and I don't know if I can. My idea was to use the "Ki" to create his weapons and to use his powers. I was thinking also to bond this kind of monk to a deity, as the cleric, and he can only summon the deity weapon. That would be a large restriction anyway.

Thank you for your answers.

There's the Dreamscarred Press version of the Soulknife, which is about as "official" as it's going to get. As far as making it a non-psionic class, it would not be difficult to make a non-psionic version; simply remove the Wild Talent bonus feat and disallow the Soulknife to take psionic feats.

If you wanted to make it a ki-based class, you could grant the Soulknife a ki pool in exchange for Psychic Strike... but then you would have to come up with abilities that used the ki pool.

I have been using a converted Soulnife in a game I have been playing and it does work better to use the same rules as the Magus

I would go with the dreamscarred press version, it's really well balanced and a lot of fun.

Kech Hunter

I would go with the dreamscarred press version, it's really well balanced and a lot of fun.

I knew that this version was underpowered, anyway I wanted to use it without the psychic powers (and I know is a lot of fun, but my friends don't let me to use a psychic warrior T.T).

I agree to what Viktyr Gehrig said, but I thought something like that:
"I want to use it without psychic powers, I can leave the Wild Talent bonus feat, but how can a normal person summon blades?... I can use the "ki" for this, and use it as an archetype of the monk, but how a monk can create them?... Because he dedicated a lot of years praying a deity (like a cleric), and this deity let him summon only his weapon."

I know, it's a really twisted thought, but I was thinking to get him as "real" as possible. I don't know if I explained myself in this ^^"

Anyway, for the magus, I'll read his rules and I'll see, to be honest I didn't thought to use his rules. Thank you for the advice. :)

Soulknife doesn't have powers. And you could certainly flavor the actual mind blade as a gift from your deity. Psionics and ki are similar thematically, and they're the same for fluff purposes in my world.

Try my Mystic Knight if you want an Arcane-based Soulknife.

Could make it arcane. Call it a pact blade. Think Magik from the X-Men.

Or if you want to stick with the divine origin... replace Wild Talent with the Emulate Weapon Blade Skill (mindblade takes the form of a specific weapon) and Psychic Strike with the Destructive Smite ability from the Cleric's Destruction domain.

The 3.5 Soulblade was weak. The Dreamscarred version really is not.

I can try going with that, but I don't know 2 things of your description:

1 - What do you mean with: BAB full? That there the BAB modificator that goes up +1 per level like a warrior?

2 - Good saving Throws: Reflex and Will. What do you mean with good?... How does they will grew up? Like the magus saves, but, instead of fort, there's the ref save?

Anyway I'm asking to my master If I can use it. If he says no, I will try doing an archetype of the magus, I saw that there are the same skill, more or less, without spells. Thanks for your advices :)

Full BAB is the same progression as a fighter, paladin, ranger, or barbarin. Medium BAB (or 3/4 BAB) is your cleric/monk/rogue/bard progression. Low BAB (sometimes called half-BAB) is your sorcerer/wizard/witch progression.

Good saves are those which start at +2 and increase over 20 levels to +12. All saves not listed as good start at +0 and increase over 20 levels to +6.

You are welcome.

My master doesn't let me to take the Mystic Knight, but he can let me use the soulknife.

I have a question: Psionic classes are balanced with the other classes? Because the psionic classes are third party publisher.
