I guess the only real question here is what happens if you try to don barding after wildshaping? Can you put armor on? or does it automatically just meld into you still?
I don't see any reason you couldn't. Items only merge into your body at activation.

Your wild shaped druid can wear barding as a normal animal. You will almost certainly need someone else to put the barding on you, and you may have problems if you try to turn back into a humanoid while wearing barding (I'm not 100% sure whether RAW allows you to meld armour into an alternate form when you regain your natural form, but my group plays that you can't).
It should also be noted that this barding will not stack with the benefits of Wild Armour.
