Hi guys
I was wondering if anyone had any rules against players being Chaotic Evil in this adventure path (or any of their games for that matter)
For this path I cannot think of why a CE PC would join up with the rebel organisation
Have I misunderstood the alignment? Because I would be surprised with a CE PC would join any organisation as they simply long for wanton chaos and destruction.
It seems like even if they did join they would undermime the organisastions aims to such an extent that they would be booted out
(And this tends to be the case with CE PCs in games I have played in where they are selfish and undermine or are unhelpful to the rest of the party)
How do people handle a player that wishes to play a Chaotic Evil character?

I generally enforce a rule banning Chaotic Evil just because of the fact that they should be disruptive to the party in most good adventures if played along their alignment.
In Council of Thieves, a CE PC would really struggle. After all, the hook for the campaign is being recruited into a rebel group led by a LG cleric. Such a PC would really only work if another PC (or an NPC) acted as a "handler". Think Roy and Belkar from Order of the Stick. I think unless there was a strong "handler", Arael and the Children would consider a CE PC as a threat to be eliminated, rather than a potential ally.

It's hard to decide if a CE person IS CE at level 1 when the PCs join the Children of westcrown, it's possible he's recruited because of his chaotic nature (Ie distain for government and the status quo) or that he is a potent sword arm, or whatever he is.
Evil people get into organizations all the time and lurk in them.
It's possible he may even view the CoW as a vehicle in which to divulge his CE nature, what a great excuse, attack, murder, destroy, all in the name of good. what a bunch of punks, they all think Im a hero, ahahaha this is great!
You could also have the handler situation, say a low intelligence CE barbarian how is more animalistic than anything, Grok like kill, tell me when grok kill..... John have you gone to the mill, to pay the bill? KILL?! KILL!!! someone say Grok KILL...no no grok, bill at the mill not kill!
GROK KILL! quick someone cast sleep.
It all really depends on the player.
The character could be a demon worshipper sick of all the diabolists and want to overthrow the house of thrune, hell knights or other LE types just because he hates them.
