2nd Darkness upgrade

Just want everyone to double check my math and get some ideas

I upgraded 2nd darkness to pathfinder core for my group and we are chapter the game is High Magic and high Ability scores. I have also made custom Relic are artifact items for my group. (All monsters have been upgrade by given more class levels or increase there Crs in other ways. Or increase numbers. Most of my group have found their Artifact and this will justify their temporary mythic powers. I will remove the powers as the play test comes to a close.

So not all my pcs will be mythic yet. I am only going to start them at teir 1. Figure it will be good test of how mythic and non mythic pc handle, mix of situations.

They are nearing the end of Chapter 3 of the AP so from here on out are spoilers

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Water Breathing (Ex)
A green dragon can breathe underwater indefinitely and can freely use its breath weapon, spells, and other abilities while submerged.

Woodland Stride (Ex)
A very young or older green dragon can move through any sort of foliage at full speed without taking damage or suffering impairment. Areas of foliage that have been magically manipulated affect it normally.

The Assassin Arkaxis has the next Artifact so I will not adjust him any more then I have. I already changed him to 5/5 Rouge/Assassin and turned him into noble drow. So he will not need to be adjust.

The BEGG of this chapter Nolveniss normal encounter is just him and familiar. I upgraded to included some 4 drow solders as his protection. So the BEGG does not go down in 1 round. Should I remove the solders and add a 3 or 4 mythic Tiers to him or only 2 Tiers and keep the solders?

As a DM, I have always enjoyed Higher power games So since Mythic rules did not existed when started campaign I made some Mythic Style Items.

Mythic Powers are granted by Artifacts or Mythic style Item the character have Found. This allows me of easy removal of them after the play test.

2nd Darkness is the Campaign Modified heavily, to deal with the 2 extra players High ability scores and my custom Artifacts and update from 3.5 rules to Pathfinder. Treasure remains un modified as the players where going to receive artifact style items which would heavily change WBL.
Informed players we are going to test no higher then Teir 4. I would add a Teir to their characters at particular points in the adventure. I told them to ignore lesser trials in that aspect for now. One player asked if they should still keep tract of them for reason of restoring mythic power points. I said yes.

I introduce Mythic only to players that had the items. Good test on how mythic and non-mythic players would perform. My monk player did not make the game so he was left with out mythic ability despite having his artifact item.

As a DM I saw no real Difference with Teir 1 a Slight increase in power. My fighter was the only one that really used it a lot. I did see despite not leveling part of Trials, There was still selfish and group sacrifice act that happen because of them. In one encounter the Toulouse asked if he can use can use intimated to scare off and encounter instead of diplomacy or bluff for lesser Trial Calm Down. I said yes sound fair. He made the roll to Bullied the encounter away. But then Carl Douglas goes and attacks the encounter hoping to full fill his own trail by killing a creature in one hit.

Comments thus far from players

Carl Douglas feels Mythic Power Attack needs better wording and clarification. Mythic improved vital strike and greater feats are needed.
The Reason he Picked Trickster over Champion was, Path dabbling lets you pick from other paths with out wasting mythic feat on dual path. Also the Also it does not say how many times you can or can’t pick this one. Even if it is only once, he would save it for higher Teir ability. Fleeting Charge and Surprise Strike are in both. He did not care for the lower level Champion abilities only the Higher Teir 6+ ones looked good to him. Fleeting Charge works extremely well with defensive Move. He is using a Scythe as a weapon so Fickle Attack is appealing to him also, it increase his chance to do more damage more often. The Trickster Trials would be the easiest to complete for him being vital strike based fighter.

Toulouse went trickster for the same reason the Trials seemed easier to accomplish over Arch mage. He also wanted Surprising Strike. Unwavering Skill sounded really good to him. He can take the rest from Arch mage with dual path. Mythic Spells from universal path ability.

Jamison Stormsinger – Did not have many thoughts on mythic thus far as he saved most of his ability because the adventure had players going thru a portal to another plane and did not know when they may get to a inn again or have a chance to rest. He did feel Carl Douglas combo was a little to good.
Thinks fleeting charge should maybe be just that a charge done as swift action. Thus player still lose 2 to ac and must travel in strait line.
He really did not have a lot of feats to choose from other then mythic spells or Dual Focus
He chooses Marshal, to go with this cohort and followers. He end up taking Decisive strike over other because do the high mobility of fighter and monk, they don’t need another move action. He has problems keeping up with them as it is for healing and adding another 50ft+ of movement to them is just too much. Rally seems kind of weak.
All players used their strike when the need to over come a DR they could not. This was a big boost and made battle go quicker.

This long chamber has raised seating on opposite sides of a long pool of water. The pool has a brightly colored rim, and the water within ripples and splashes as waves travel from one end to the other in an endless current. The seats on either side are populated by dozens of decaying, dripping elven corpses, most of which seem to have been crushed and twisted by some great force. A flight of stairs ascends to the remnants of what may have been a wooden balcony that overlooked the room, but now all that remains of this long-crumbled upper floor are a few stone supports.

Stepping through the portal is a dizzying experience, and it takes a few moments for the world to right itself. After a time, the surrounding elven city becomes clear, its tall, graceful spires rising up among manicured boughs of a well tended forest. Some of these buildings seem familiar, resembling those of ruined Celwynvian, but strangely restored and made whole. Although this glimpse through time is convincing, something is off. Colors seem dim, sounds are muted, and the shadows appear strangely long and dark. hell no, lol d20 pro is a virtual table top and DM assistant. It take care of it all. It handles every action the players do and logs it. It can be used for net play. So a DM can publish the log for players that miss the game and catch up on what happen. It keep players from cheating to for a good portion of it. One of the guys that plays in my game cheats on his dice rolls a lot. First thing he did was complain about the program rolling low. Lol unfortunately it does take in to effect human luck the guy that plays Toolouse, rolls high often and his not cheating nor is his dice cheating dice. All the guys call his dice cheater dice, but they are not because when they roll the dice it rolls low.

Yeah it a lot of reading and that was a lot of combat in this log, 6 combat encounters total for the night. I did clean up the log a little, because it logs canceled moves and time and date on every line.

check it out d20pro.com, it handel any d20 game you can throw at it with some customization. It was orginal made for 3.5 d&d. but has been modified for pathfinder and 4th ed and other games. The devs are constatnly updating it. Most recent update included pathfinder death rules and charater sheet print outs, updated fog of war. It will auto roll spell damage and saves for spells remove the spells from spell per day use. It keeps track of eveything you want it to. Catch with spell effects you have to input them your self, you can save them and use them again later, but you going to have to change them or make a new one when casters level up. That the next thing they working on improving is the spell system.

I have that in the frist few lines, but wanted to post actual progress and what happen so if Jason or them wanted to line by line they could.


I just wanted to update, it has been a bit. My group made it to next chapter his this adventure it is a heavy role play chapter. But there mythic ability have come to use in that section. When having to make these daily role playing skill checks, The mythic surge of 1d6 has saved a few of their lives from being executed or not blowing there cover while they are sneaking around spying, in drow society. They had mostly forgot about this ability until this game or did not care for it. It had a huge moment to shine and took them at 2 weeks in game time or 14 rolls to remember this ability. It saved a few that where barely making there skill checks and those where making them allowing them to double up on the roll getting double reward and speeding up game story to progress a little faster. I am sure they will now remember it and may not use there swift action as much as this extra dice can save them.
