Aasimar and their weapon proficiency.

Rules Questions

Appologies if this has been asked before but I could not find a reference to it.

Aasimar are outsiders with the native subtype, correct?

In the bestiaries it states that

Quote:

An outsider possesses the following traits:-

"Proficient with all simple and martial weapons and any weapons mentioned in its entry."

Does this mean all Classes of Aasimar are proficient with martial weapons?

Paizo developers have ruled that Outsiders with no racial HD only gain the proficiencies from their class, rather than the proficiencies of the Outsider type.

(I thought that was in the FAQ, but I can't find it right now.)

No, this has been clarified by the developers. The proficiencies are a function of Outsider hit dice. Basically, if you take "outsider" as a class, you get all simple and martial proficiencies. Aasimar PCs take normal classes, so it does not apply.

Bestiary not to hand: Since the Golem has put out the ARG, I would tend to go with it as THE final (?) word, under the presumption that the latest work indicates a 'codicil' or errata upon the previous work. But that's just my hunch.

So, no.
