My understanding:
The Dervish Dancer archetype for the bard is on page 32 and 33 of the Ultimate Combat.
The various archetype abilities replace suggestion, mass suggestion, dirge of doom, frightening performance, bardic knowledge, lore master, versatile performance, soothing performance, and deadly performance.
Battle Dance's third paragraph, in its entirety, states "Dervish dancers gain the inspire courage, inspire greatness, and inspire heroics bardic performance types as battle dances, but these only provide benefits to the dervish dancer himself."
My questions:
Are there a number of times per day that the Dervish Dancer can do their Battle Dances?
Since bardic performance is not replaced, can the Dervish Dancer still sing/otherwise perform the bardic performances that are allowed?
Follow up: Do these bardic performances fall into a different times per day category than the Battle Dances times per day - if there are times per day for the Battle Dance?
Does a Dervish Dancer start out at Level 1 with Inspire Courage, Inspire Greatness, and Inspire Heroics?
Follow up: If the Dervish Dancer does not start with all three dances, then does the Dervish Dancer have to chose one of these three to start with at Level 1 or are these abilities gained at the same level that a bard would normally acquire these abilities?

Battle Dance consumes rounds of Bardic Performance from the same pool that the DD's remaining (that is, not replaced by Battle Dance) performances use, so that's how the limit is enforced.

I wish. See some of the older threads on the same subject. The three performance types listed become Battle Dances (only), the other performance types can be performed normally.

The DD gains Battle Dance types at the same point in the Bard progression that the equivalent Bardic Performance type would be gained.
