Inquisitor's Bastion Vambrances - Pointless?

Am I missing something or are these close to useless?

Quote:
Constructed of blackened steel, these vambraces augment the protection granted to the inquisitor by the protection judgment. While under that judgment’s effects, the inquisitor gains a sacred bonus both to CMD and on checks made to cast spells defensively. This bonus is equal to the sacred bonus the judgement grants to AC.

Miscellaneous Modifiers

A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD. Any penalties to a creature's AC also apply to its CMD. A flat-footed creature does not add its Dexterity bonus to its CMD.

The protection judgment's AC bonus therefore also applies to CMD. This item gives you a sacred bonus to CMD equal to the sacred bonus to CMD you already have. These bonuses don't stack, so all you get is the bonus on casting defensively.

Would it make sense as a fix to let these double the sacred bonus on CMD?

there's several pointless things in the game. like prone shooter feat. they get in there and they don't get taken out. just don't buy the vambrances.

It could be nice for a neutral or evil Inquisitor that gets Profane Bonuses from Judgements.

Except that it calls out the bonus is equal to the sacred bonus. So it doesn't affect a profane bonus.

I'd rather turn it into something they could use. There are plenty of items specific to paladins or cavaliers, and this looked like a great idea for the Inquisitor that failed in execution.
