Season 4 and Haunts...

The Exchange 5/5

just a general question - and no spoilers please! (don't mention scenarios please, or details of haunts...)

In season 3, in particular late season 3, it felt like there was a haunt every other scenario (if not more common). I have see groups of players decide on what PCs to bring, depending on what season the scenario is. "Season 3? Do we have more than one PC who can channel? Wizard prep disrupt undead, and everyone have holy water in spring wrist shieths...".

I'm just wondering if the trend seems to be continuing in season 4. Opinions?

While I've only played one scenario in season 4 so far, there wasn't any haunts in it.

Haunt Siphons are legal purchases now so anyone can channel energy to damage a haunt, regardless of what season the scenario is.

as long as you buy the correct product (which I have). Also, several of my PCs have more than one haunt siphon - so that I can lend them out.

But Archanjel - the question was:
Does season 4 feel like it has as many haunts as late season 3?

Dark Archive 4/5

What book is the haunt siphon in?

Grand Lodge 4/5

Nosig, is this really a question you couldn't get answered in one of your 3-4 other haunt related threads?

You are a Pathfinder, be prepared for anything.

Pathfinder Adventure Path #43: Haunting of Harrowstone (Carrion Crown 1 of 6) (PFRPG)

it's the only thing from there that made it into additional resources.

There are haunts in season 4, but they are less 'thrown in there' and more back to the original concept of 'tell the story'

I played/ran 4 scenarios and there was only 1 haunt, and it wasn't the kind you typically find. So no. Not sure about Wrath, Sanos, and Goblins.

season 4 is sounding better and better.

eeek! so hard not to click it! (I play that at Brewfest this weekend, so I'll read it Monday.)

OVERALL, does it feel (to you) like there are as many haunts as there were in late season 3?

Nosig, stop fishing for which character you should play or which items you should buy for when you start playing Season 4 scenarios. Just be prepared for anything.

for Andrew & anyone wanting to listen in:

LOL! which character I'll be playing is likely to be effected by what everyone else at the table is playing, or what town we adventure in. And almost all my 'toons have a haunt siphon in a spring wrist shielth (if the judge allows it). The exceptions would be my Clerics (who channel) and my Bard (who has never done a HP of damage to anything other than herself, and is not about to start now). So I'm not really "fishing" for that reason. Just wondering what my games will be like this weekend (I'm set to play several season 4s at Brewfest). You know, nerveous Con Jitters... Checking my PCs to make sure everything is set - discoverying things like "Eeek - this guy doesn't have a Table Tent?! How did I get a 3rd level guy without a Table Tent?"

Liberty's Edge 5/5

Which scenarios are you playing?

I've played In Wrath's Shadow & Golemworks Incident and will be playing Sanos Abduction this weekend.

I've run In Wrath's Shadow & The Green Market and will be running The Cultist's Kiss this Sunday.

In Wrath's Shadow, Golemworks Incident, The Green Market, and The Cultist's Kiss are all tough scenarios that will require you to be prepared.

At least one of the scenarios, your Bard would be helpful, and at least 3 of them, your Cleric will be awesome.

As to the Haunt question... I would say that when they have shown in up Season 4, they tend to make more sense overall.

Working from memory so please excuse errors... I am an ol' gamer after all...

Sanos Abduction, I am playing... maybe Saturday?
Wrath's Shadow, I think I play Sunday
Golemworks Incident, I played at CogCon
The Green Market, and The Cultist's Kiss I am not playing this time (maybe they are higher level?)

the other two I am playing are...
Severing Ties? I think (Tier 1-5?)
and
Cyphermage Delima, also Tier 1-5 I think.

So my Lady Bard will be sitting this one out - (She's 9th now, and she had a good run in RftRK at CogCon, and needs a rest). I'm doing low tier at the Con - 2 Tier 1-5s and 2 Tier 3-7s. (I have a PCs levels 2,3,5,6,7,7 not counting 1st level stuff, so I do have a selection).

Liberty's Edge 5/5

The Green Market is 5-9 and fantastic
The Cultist's Kiss is 7-11 and looks fantastic.

These will have to wait till later in the year. My wife wants to work on her lower level PCs, and I LIKE the lower Tiers. So I tend to play them as soon as they are released... which is why I am out of scenarios below Tier 7-11 that I can play (except the new releases).

Thanks for your input!
Your "As to the Haunt question... I would say that when they have shown in up Season 4, they tend to make more sense overall" seems to be saying they are not as common, and will be more fun when they do appear. This sounds good. THANKS again!

I didn't say that.

But I did say this.
