if I want to apply GM credit from a 5-9 adventure to a level 7 guy, what do?

can I hold it till he hits 8? Can I apply the 8-9? I'd rather not apply credit down

It's in the Guide. You apply the lower subtier.

Grand Lodge 4/5

You apply the credit for the lower sub-tier to a GM PC who is between tiers.

The only way to hold is, per certain GMs, is to not take credit for running it at this time, and run it again for credit when your PC is at the level to get the higher sub-tier credit legally.

As has been said, you gotta take the lower tier.

However, you can apply it to different character of level 6 or lower, so that when they hit level 7, they get the 7-8 credit. This would ensure that you aren't getting less gold per level on your characters than you're hoping for.

It would also ensure that your other character stays at level 8 for longer though :P

In the guide! I knew i read it somewhere. gotta try to get 8 before I run golemworks on the 24th I guess :-p.

I just hold it for a lower level dude, which is probably what will happen.

Thanks guys google didn't search the guide for me! :(

Do note that you have to assign GM credit when you report the session, even if it is just to a placeholder character.

As in, they don't have to be made yet, but there needs to be a GM character number assigned to any given game - as has been discussed here.

Yep. You can't really hold a chronicle for a character to get when they reach the maximum lvl for that scenario. If you apply it to a character not yet of usable lvl, they will get it the minute they hit min lvl. The only way to get the credit at high tier is to have a character in that max range when you GM it.

Yeah I knew that one, I'm just blind and missed it in the guide. Thanks a bunch guys :D

If you are going to claim a GM credit for the scenario, at least.
