Will based character

Shadow Lodge

I have this idea for a guy and I am trying to figure out what it would look like in case I need him soon.

Vyrick has always been lucky. Things always seem to go right for him. He doesn't know why but everything he does always works. Whats more, the world seems to listen to him. When he speaks this happen. Sometimes it does more then what he wants and sometimes it does nothing but the world seems keyed to him somehow. He has decided to use his unique abilities for good/himself (depends on game).

The idea is that he acts on instinct. He is unlearned, untrained and oblivious. I wouldn't even give him knowledge arcane or spell craft.

I know I want to use the words of power and I am guessing a sorcerer would be a good start but I am stuck. What blood lines, feats, traits or prestige classes could make this work?

Also, because I am not huge on full casters and prefer Gish builds is there a way to build this that will still have him be effective in melee or with a bow? Any ideas would be helpful.

This actually sounds like a charisma based character, the type that gets by on how powerful he seems to be. Wisdom dictates the will within that few see. Charisma is how well one conveys it to the world around him. Trust me, the mysterious stranger is charisma based, read the fluff on that archetype it matches your description uncannily.

How about an Archaeologist Bard? They even have a feature called "Archaeologist's Luck."

If Complete Scoundrel is allowed in the game, there's a prestige class that might work well for the character. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it or have the book handy. Seems like it was either immediately before or after the gray guard.

I can use Paizo material Only.

Archeologist sounds really cool. My only thought is that bard magic is not usually world changing. But that might be my misconception.

How would a Bard build look? Any other ideas?

your only "world changing" powers are going to come from a class that can go with lvl 8-9 spells, even then you're never drastically changing the world.

I don't know if this is similar enough to be useful at all - but I had a character called "Lucky Luke" who was similarly lucky. The idea was to never to use any abilities that are obviously magical - anything he does could be the result of luck or natural charm. So, no Color Spray, but yes to things like Command. I built him as a cleric with Luck domain and Love subdomain.

Character flavor:
With a fearless attitude some would call reckless and an easy air of confidence that inspires instant trust, Luke is a natural swashbuckler. Gifted with preternatural luck by a foreign god of prosperity, he has come to expect everything to go right. Those around him are so astonished that his audacity seems to bring only deserts, and never demise, that his reputation has spread as “Lucky Luke”. While some of his fellow clerics consider it uncouth, he is often seen charging to the front line of a fight, bastard sword in both hands, self-assured that his blows will be guided just so by forces unseen, while his enemies’ strikes will falter. Though aware his luck has a divine origin, he has learned that Kofusachi smiles most felicitously on those who make their own luck. Thus, he always keeps his eyes open and and mind active, looking for opportunities wherever they arise, with remarkable results. He has learned to visualize exactly how he will succeed before he acts, so much so that it has become automatic. When he spins the wheel of fortune, he knows how hard to push. His daily meditation consists of visualizing himself succeeding in every possible way, at every conceivable activity. Thus, when the chance arises, he is prepared and ready to strike. He typically only contemplates success, but when he does meet failure, he sees it as an opportunity for further consummation. While he knows he is lucky, he is not a gambler, as his only fear is his luck running out, and he is hesitant to use his powers for personal gain lest he offend the god of fortune. Certain he will succeed at any task he sets his mind to, he opts to tackle the problems that few others dare to. He rarely looks for treasure, but often finds it.

Build:
Cleric of Kofusachi (CG)
domains: Luck, Charm (Love)
strength 14, dexterity 12, constitution 12, intelligence 12, wisdom 14, charisma 12
traits: Poverty-Stricken, Ease of Faith
feats: Toughness, Alertness
orisons: Guidance, Resistance, Stabilize
1st level spells: Divine Favor, True Strike, Magic Weapon

He was only the third character I ever built, but definitely my favorite that I've played. Obviously not optimized, but he held his own in combat, even killed a black dragon once. I'm just sad the campaign ended, it would have been awesome to get him to level 11 so he could take Quicken Spell-Like Ability and actually use Bit of Luck on himself in a relevant way.

Rumpin That is amazing. I love it.

I think i am personally leaning towards something with a bit more show but still it is great.

It actually makes me think about the Ancestor Oracle...
