I'm completely new to Pathfinder and I have not even touched DnD 3.5. I first played DnD 2nd Edition when I was a kid, but that was decades ago. Now I feel like a complete noob. Anyway, I have questions on the ability scores.
To start, I chose the Purchase method with the Standard Fantasy (15 points.) I inputted Str 10, Dex 15, Con 13, Int 10, Wis 15, Cha 12 on the character sheet. Did I do it right so far? If so, my question is how do I apply the Ability Score Costs to it? Much thanks, guys.

I love this little tool:

Hmm, wonder if it's off, cause it's showing that you spent 19 points there, not 15.

Dude, this is a great tool! But you're right, I tried it myself and it came up 19. Hmm, I wonder how I can make it go back down to 15.

Ability score point costs are on CRB p16.
Ability score on the left, point cost on the right.
7 = -4
8 = -2
9 = -1
10 = 0
11 = 1
12 = 2
13 = 3
14 = 5
15 = 7
16 = 10
17 = 13
18 = 17
For your ability scores:
Str 10 = +0
Dex 15 = +7
Con 13 = +3
Int 10 = +0
Wis 15 = +7
Cha 12 = +2
Total point cost: 19.
However, if you have already applied racial modifiers then this will be incorrect. Buy your ability scores first, total up the points. Make sure you are at 15. THEN apply racial modifiers.
My guess is the 19 is really a 15 because your dexterity or wisdom is a 13+2racial.
Also, I would use less odd numbers. But that is general design and not a rules question.
