Attack with Fireworks

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

Hi there.

I have a doubt when using fireworks with the Goblins of Jade Regent. By one side, the Desnan Candle, says that attacking with it is a non-proficient range attack, so I must roll with a -4 penalty on it.

But If I look at Skyrocket and Starfountain, there is not any attack roll needed, isnt it? So, with the Skyrocket f.e, i must choose the line in which the rocket is launch and then look if it impacts with any object or person?

Does it matter if that object is big or not? I mean, if i launch it to a big enemy, like a Medium barbarian who is fighting with a small goblin, could the rocket impact the barbarian, or if the goblin is in the line between the launcher and the objetive, would the rocket impact on the little goblin?

(Sorry if my grammar or spelling is not so good)

Thanks for helping :D

When lit, this foot-long wooden tube begins to shake and emit a handful of white sparks, shedding light as a torch. One round later it takes flight, moving at speed 90 for 1d6 rounds before loudly exploding in an burst of light and sound, dealing 2d6 points of fire damage in a 10-foot burst (DC 15 Reflex save for half ). Anyone who takes damage from the explosion is either blinded or deafened (there is a 50% chance of either) for 1 round.

The Skyrocket doesn't explode on impact, it explodes after 1d6 rounds. A barbarian in the Skyrocket's path wouldn't make it explode any earlier.

The "rocket" you're probably thinking of is a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG). The grenade is designed to collapse and detonate on impact. Fireworks are not designed this way.

As for the Skyrocket hitting someone or something, there are no rules for that. It would be up to your DM. I would recommend treating it as a bull rush, having it do damage as an improvised weapon, and/or having it change direction randomly and continue at 90ft/rd until it explodes.

It says (Just after that you wrote before):

Quote:

If a skyrocket impacts a solid surface or a creature before reaching its maximum range, it detonates prematurely at the point of impact. Anyone who takes damage from the explosion is either blinded or deafened (a 50% chance of either) for 1 round. A skyrocket costs 50 gp and weighs 1 pound.

I still have the doubt. Because it says this:

If a skyrocket impacts a solid surface or a creature before reaching its maximum range, it detonates prematurely at the point of impact.

Please help :D

You would use the rocket as a non-weapon proficieny (-4) to attack you would aim it like a line and if a object or character was there I would make a Touch AC attack if it missies the rocket keeps going until it either hits a wall or explodes.

sorry playing Shattered Star so forgive the grammar
