Tiefling winter witch

So I have a tiefling winter witch and I was wondering about the cold resistance that goes along with that. Tieflings already have cold resistance 5, so when a winter witch gains 5 does my tiefling then have cold resistance 10, or does nothing happen with that until the winter witch gets 10 and then my tiefling get 10?

The general rule of thumb is that things do not stack.

They won't stack, though the 10 will replace it later.

Man, a Winter Witch tiefling with ice devil heritage would make for some really weird imagery possibilities...

You could take the tiefling alternative racial trait that gives up getting three resistances for natural armor and one resistance (I'd suggest something other than cold). And if you like then later take the tiefling feat that grants you two more resistances.

A tiefling winter witch could be a really fun character.
