Deity with a favoured Reach Weapon?

Advice

I'm thinking of a cleric that is going to be a support character in as many ways as possible, including standing in the second line with a reach weapon.
Other than a Longspear, or glaive from Shelyn, whip from Calistria, or spiked chain from Zon-Kuthon;
what reach weapon proficiencies can I pick up from my deity?

Silver Crusade

Belial = Ransuer

But I somewhat doubt that you are gonna want that route.

I think Glaive is your best route.

Your choices from the core rules for reach weapons are;
longspear - any
glaive - Shelyn, Baphomet (DL), Crocell (AD),
guisarme - Yan-gant-y-gan (AD),
lance - Geon (DH), Eligos (AD),
ranseur - Belial (AD), Xoveron (DL), Zelishkar (DH),
whip - Calistria, Dahak, Moloch (AD), Abraxas (DL), Gogunta (DL), Ragadahn (FE),

AD - archdevil
DL - demon lord
DH - daemon horsman
FE - First World eldest

I'm not sure if the bladed scarf counts as a reach weapon, but if so, Sivanah, among others, grant that one.

The only good-aligned options are a cleric of Shelyn with a glaive, or a (CG) cleric of Calistria using a whip or scorpion whip.

Shelyn keeps some weird company...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Spiked Chains are not reach weapons.

Glaives & Sheyln are both pretty awesome for support.

Calistra & Whips are both pretty awesome if you're looking to mess with folks.

Edit: also, Sheyln picked up the glaive in interesting fashion, so the company actually makes a bit of sense.

@Set - that's quite a gallery there :)

Searching through the hundred or so deities in the Pathfinder Wiki, for non-evil deities you've also got:

Tsukiyo - LG Prince of the Moon, longspear (already mentioned as something you wanted to avoid)

Bokrug - CN The Water Lizard, ranseur

There were a good dozen or so evil deities that use whips, longspears, guisarmes and ranseurs, but that was about it.

It might be a little cheesy but, you might be better off working with your GM to invent one of the thousand nameless gods of the Vudrani and assign it a reach weapon.

There were three or four other gods, demon lords, etc. that had 'spear' listed as their favored weapon, and I had no idea if that would include longspear (much as gods who grant 'mace' or 'pick' without specifying whether they grant light or heavy versions of that weapon are kind of on squishy ground).

Then I realized that all clerics get longspear anyway, regardless of who they worship, since it's a Simple weapon, and said **** it.

You can still be Neutral, and worship an Evil god.

You will still to match the Lawful, or Chaotic portion.

Zon-Kuthon with the slavery sub-domain. Dominate a polearm wielder :-)
