Help me figure out why this wouldn't work.
Dervish doubles the effect of the performance, So each time I turn it on i'll get 4 d10 plus con, temporary hit points.
once these hit points are used I can just end the performance (free action) and start another (move or soon to be swift) to give myself new temp hit points.
It's kind of cheese but i'm lvl ten at this point using a plus 1 sword and +1 armor so i'm looking for anything possible to remain effective since I have very little equipment. I'm trying to play the role of the tank using the crane style feats, high dex, and the goblin roll with it feat.

That would be the Dawnflower Dervish Bard archetype from Inner Sea Magic, rather than the Dawnflower Dervish Fighter archetype from the Inner Sea Primer, right? 'Cos, you know, the game's not confusing enough without different things using the same name... ;)
But yes - I assume the 'stop and start again' tactic is pretty standard for any use of Inspire Greatness, so I can't see why a DfD(B) (oh yeah - that's much less confusing... ;) ) can't use it like that too. I wouldn't even call it 'cheese', as the quicker Bardic Performance start-up times as the character levels seem to be designed for just that sort of stopping and starting - it's an intended power increase as the character levels, isn't it?
I guess to compare you could ask if a Wizard type casting False Life every time his previous casting is used up is 'cheese'... or just a fair choice of how the guy's using his limited resources.

I don't know how willing you or your GM would be for a rewrite, but I just started a level 18 game with a Dervish Dancer (just to make things more confusing :) ) to level 15 and then Monk Master of Many Styles to level 3. This character was so effective that the most asked question of the night: That's a bard?
The Dervish Dancer gets a bonus to speed and can make an attack after moving 5'. The downside is that it provokes AoO's. That's where the Crane and Panther Style come in. With Crane I can block their AoO, and if they have more than one, my AC is through the roof. Panther allows me to counter attack whenever I provoke due to movement (all the time) to I hit, move 5', provoke, block, panther strike, make my regular attack, then keep moving. I've gotten 3 attacks in with little chance of getting hit.
