Hi All,
My group wrapped up the Skinsaw Murders tonight at level 6 going on 7. According to the module they should be level 7 going on 8. We have been using the medium XP gain rate but if I use the fast one they are 7 going on 8. So is supposed to be fast or medium? We have 4 players.
Also, Xanesha didn't seem so bad and they faced her at level 6. We had 1 near death but they brought her down after a long time. Because our druid has a serpent familiar it was like a beat down festival after her invisibility broke with 5 attackers. On every turn she had to heal or cast mirror images to keep up.

If you closely read the into to Burnt Offerings, on page 11 it states:
Advancement Track
Rise of the Runelords assumes that the adventuring party consists of four PCs, and that experience points are earned on the fast advancement track.
With as many people as have seemed to overlook this, if there's ever another AP compilation that uses the Fast track, they really needed to spell it out multiple times, in much clearer language. WARNING: This Adventure Path uses the Fast XP Track, NOT the Medium.

Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, p.11, second section, "Advancement Track":
Rise of the Runelords assumes that the adventuring party consists of four PCs, and that experience points are earned on the fast advancement track. At this rate, you can expect your party to gain approximately three levels of experience in each chapter of the adventure...
Seems like it's pretty clear to me!

Xanesha was significantly nerfed for RotRL:AE. The write-up for Lucrecia was closer to her stats in the original version.
