Licensed Products General Discussion

So someone who doesn't even game told me about this new comic after I said I play Pathfinder. I thought they were talking about the Graphic novel from the old movie but they insisted no...

I went looking and :

Pathfinder Comic

These look pretty awesome and they have maps and Stats for the critters in the book.

Anyone else never even hear of these?
I might be getting a subscription in the near future.

i like the artwork in the PF rulebooks (aside from a certain barbarian's sword), but the comic has exaggerated the characters' poses and expressions too much for my taste. I like a bit more subtlety if the artist can manage it. Also, the dialogue is pretty generic.

We just started these comics through a partnership with Dynamite - you can check out everything that we have here, including exclusive covers you can only get at Paizo.com. :D
Also, moved thread to Licensed Products forum.

Well Liz...
It seems that this subject has popped up elsewhere but I read the boards and I've never seen a post about the comic.
Maybe moving all the comic threads here, into this disused bin is making the availability of this book unknown?

I DO tend to only read the Pathfinder RPG boards but I'd have thought at least a mention of this product would be there but I didn't read anything about it...

Can I put a post there so that people know about this product? There is RPG material in it so it should hopefully stay put...

We'd rather not have multiple threads about the same topic. Since the product isn't made by us, it should go in the Licensed Products forum (even though it does also include gaming material), and we have spoken about it in our blogs, on Facebook, and on Twitter.

OK. I play and read the boards but I had to hear about it from a non-gamer. Might not have enough buzz among the core dynamic...

Your choice.

There's a possibility that advertisements for the comics will be showing up in our upcoming books (though I'm not certain). I'll pass your concern along to the Powers That Be. :)

There have been ads in the Adventure Path books.

I was referring to our hardcovers.

Sovereign Court

Just received my first comic.

I really, really enjoyed issue 1.

Only one minor gripe: Seoni suggests they don't 'chock it up to innate behaviour'.

That is a mahussive failure of expression: a chock is not something you use to make a record, but a piece of chalk might be.

The correct expression would be: "Normally I'd agree with you and chalk it up to innate behaviour..."

This clumsy inaccuracy was so jarring it actually shook me out of my immersion in the story.

However, I loved a lot about this story, especially the paizo-exclusive cover and the awesome night-watch page where the moon is fat in the sky and everyone dozes off except for a stolid, tea-drinking Harsk: awesome-sauce!

Best line of the title? "This IS the plan."

You forget that Seoni is a Varisian, and common/Taldor is a second language. She is probably speaking with an accent.

Glad you enjoyed the first issue overall.

That was a mistake on my part when I wrote the script and it surprisingly sailed past multiple levels of editorial. It'll be fixed if we do a reprint or collection down the road.
