Brilliant, congrats again :) I'm ready to go with my game, which will be the first ever game I've run that starts with a tax ;) I believe we have four games ready to go when characters are complete? AOW just needs one Almagafor's character then we are ready to go, Skulls and Shackles needs Almagafor and drawesome to complete their characters I believe, I don't think there are any completed characters for the other games. I'm planning on going with a Magus for drawesomes I think.

Almagafor |

My homebrew is coming along, its going to be kinda grim and gritty (your likely employer is L/E). Main bit of setting is kind of patterned on early Roman Empire around the time of Julius and Augustus. Complex political structure, lots of baddies, conspiracy, all that good stuff.
Now, why I'm posting now is for character creation. I'd like to put a few things to a vote.
1) Starting level: 1, 3, or 5
2) Rolling method: Point buy (25) or rolling (5d6, arrange as you like, one reroll, if you roll badly I'll let you default to point buy or reroll the set)

DM Carpe |

In AOW you mean caffeine addict? Hmmm, can everyone see my post? I can only see mine and Almagafor's - and Fanguars obviously. I'v not experienced being unable to post, but several people have mentioned it to me, etc.

DM Carpe |

I'd be happy with something higher than 1st if you are up for it Almagafor, and I prefer point buy to. I either end up feeling bad one way or another with rolls - usually because I roll high and then feel guilty.

I'd like to have all characters complete and all games up and running by friday, and move onto one post a day minimum from there. Hope that seems fair enough to everyone? I think we need to really get this motoring or its going to falter and fail. So I think we need to make that a hard deadline.
If anyone fails to meet that, or feels they can no longer meet the level of commitment required, then I've got a few people who might be interested in filling slots - and are experienced DM with good posting records on the boards. If anyone else has suggestions for other DMPCs we can certainly discuss who to invite - if anyone, hopefully nobody will be needed.

*sigh* I'll just come out and say it, I can't do it. I thought I could, I really did, I had all the times figured out when I could manage to post. But I've got a second daughter now, and work is placing more demands on me, my wife is have a few post-pregnancy issues and I'm struggling, I can manage one, maybe 2 PbP's if I'm lucky, but 4 posts a day and GMing I just can't see me realistically having the time for anymore.
I'm sorry guys, and I wish I could have managed it, but I know that if I don't say anything now, I'll struggle along for a few months, with post times getting longer and longer, then you'll have a campaign I'm GMing fully involved in, and an 1/4 of your party gone.
Better to pull out now, where it's an inconvenience, then later when it's a game breaker.
DM Carpe, thanks for the opportunity, and I wish all of you the best of luck, it's a big ask, but if you can manage it it will be a hell'of'a ride. And GM Fanguar, I'm going to miss the opportunity to play Age of Worms :(

DM Carpe |

Understood Caffeine, I more than happy for you to continue in AOW if Fanguar is cool with it, I'm guessing we could use an extra player if what I've heard about the game is true.
Does anyone have any suggestions on who to invite? I've got a couple of people in mind, but I'm certainly open to opinions and of course its not guaranteed they will say yes - its a pretty big commitment afterall.

DM Carpe |

Right folks looks like I've got a bite from Doomed Hero - though he's only said he's interested, not that he's in. He's DMing a Land of the Linnorm Kings - Irrisen game I'm in at the moment which has been great so far, and is the writer of an excellent guide to PBP on the forums which you may well have read. He's going to start getting characters and game info together on Monday after some weekend brainstorming.

Doomed Hero |

Hi folks, thanks for the invite. I've looked over the games and what you guys have done so far. Neat stuff.
I'm brainstorming what kind of game I want to run. Any requests for themes or ideas?
I'll start cranking out characters on monday.

GM Fanguar |

Thanks for understanding, I was loosing a bit of sleep over it (not that you can really tell with a newborn ;) ) If Fanguar is OK with it I'd love to continue that campaign, but wouldn't want to commit myself to any others, thanks for the offer though DarkLightHitomi.
I see no problem with you staying in the campaign. Running with 5 PCs should lower the chance of a TPK.

DM Carpe |

I'm confident I'll enjoy whatever you come up with DH, if you are considering an AP though I'd vote for Skulls and Shackles, mainly because I was quite enamored with my character - though she'd be pretty easy to adapt so its really a none issue.

Doomed Hero |

It's going to be an egyptian/persian flavored desert campaign.
For simplicity's sake I've decided to use some earth-analogues (kind of like Hyboria from the Conan books) for the various cultures. The deities will be the Egyptian pantheon, primarily, with some Sumerian and other ancient stuff thrown in occasionally to represent rival pantheons and exotic weirdness.
I'll have the discussion thread and character generation stuff up soon.

Doomed Hero |

Ok, Game Thread Is Up. Everyone please report to the discussion thread and start making characters. :)
I'll jump into character generation for your respective games now.

DM Carpe |

Great, so everyone please get your characters completed for all games ASAP, so we can get the ball rolling. Looks like AOW should be ready to go as soon as Fanguar okays DHs character :)

DM Carpe |

Right drawesome is out so I'll need to find a replacement, does anyone have any suggestions? I have a couple of people in mind who might work, but I suspect both would struggle with the load.

DM Carpe |

No joy on recruiting someone else yet - though one person is still considering. What do you guys think should I start a recruitment thread, or should we stick with 4 games and try recruiting some players for each game? Recruiting layer won't be a problem I'm sure.

Almagafor |

May be best to recruit players for individual games, though take each game in order and present the overall concept of each player DMing a game. That way if on the first or second recruitment someone is up for playing the other games and running one we won't have to continue the search, and if not we have players anyway.
