Word Casting Advice

Advice

If you were to come up with the nastiest damage spells you could levels Several for levels 1, 2, 3, and 4

Word Casting is interesting to me and am thinking of using it with an npc blaster type.

ah well it was worth a shot for some good suggestions

(Intensified) Selected Lengthy Corrosive Bolt remains the best damage spell offered by Word Casting, taking a 2nd level slot (3rd with Intensified) and doing 20d4 or 40d4 damage over 4 rounds. Pairs extremely well with the Orc/Black Dragon Crossblooded Sorceror package due to the dice loading. This spell makes Scorching Ray look like a total chump and, realistically, it beats out even Polar Ray, an 8th level standard spell. Oh, and it can still crit from what I understand.

Lock Ward + ANYTHING is amazing. It's Brew Potion that scales up to 7th level Effect Words. You can even recreate Explosive Runes with it, albeit to a single target only. Its best uses are as potion-equivalent buff handouts. Enhance Body, Perfect Body, or the up-leveled Altered Form and Bestial Form Words pair extremely well, but you can even tag it for Soar. Lockets with Summon Servitor essentially function as Pokeballs. Keep in mind that this must be opened by someone else.

Accelerate: Better than Haste for parties with melee-light construction. Boosted Accelerate is single target Haste + the option to move and full attack.

Borrow Time: Mini-Time Stop at 4th level for a single target. It is extremely good.

Selected Wrack Spook: Single target save or suck and, since they both are level 1 Effect Words, you get to pick Fort or Will. Sickened and Frightened, 5 HD cap for Spook. Not a bad level 3 spell.

I'd run the Lock Ward trick past your GM first, it's the sort of thing that can piss off a GM who was rather expecting you to have limited access to buffs.
