Can I augment a ring of Force Shield?

Rules Questions

Can I augment a ring of Force Shield into a Ring of Bashing Force Shield +1?

Would it require a +1 bonus before other enhancements?

Would it be limited to +8 like bracers of armor?

Can you add non-plus enhancements?

The Ring of Force Shield is a wall of force (that just happens to be shield sized and shield shaped), not an actual magical shield, so it can't be further enchanted with the magical shield rules. The description of the item does not have any rules text like Bracers of Armor have that specifically allow adding armor special abilities, so you're outside of RAW and into "Ask your GM" territory.

EDIT: Missing parenthesis

I changed it in my home game and it looked like this

RING OF FORCE SHIELD
Aura moderate evocation
Slot ring; Price +2,500 gp (+1), 8,500 gp (+2), 18,500 gp (+3), 32,500 gp (+4), 50,500 gp (+5), 72,500 gp (+6), 98,500 gp (+7), 128,500 gp (+8), 162,500 gp (+9), 200,500 gp (+10) ;
Weight —
DESCRIPTION
An iron band, this simple ring generates a shield-sized (and shield-shaped) wall of force that stays with the ring and can be wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield (+2 AC). This special creation has no armor check penalty or arcane spell failure chance since it is weightless and encumbrance-free. It can be activated and deactivated at will as a free action.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Forge Ring, Shield Cost Cost Plus Squared times 1000 +250

Did you calculate price at bonus squared times 2000 plus 500? Since it leaves the hand free I feel like it should cost more than that.

I set Max AC bump you could get would be +5 the other + would have to shield like enhacements. Going this route cost way more gold that your standard magic shield but it scales as the PC grows in level.

The normal price of a ring of force shield (which adds a +2 Shield AC bonus), is 8,500 GP which he matched. Pricing looks good to me. Although I would go one step further and match its max bonuses up with the bracers of armor (+8 max) just to keep it similar.

Your right Bonus squared x2k +500 is market cost
but build coust is Squared times 1000 +250

Same as the base ring.

I let barcer go to 10 as well same thought.
5 armor 5 other stuff.

Wait, so for 2500 gp dos it provide 1 AC like a Light Shield?

Seems cool idea either way.
