[Spes Magna Games] Jumping Ship

Product Discussion

Hello!

Well, for the few of you who pay attention to Spes Magna Games, it's probably become obvious that I've not done much that's Pathfinder-related lately. My heart's just not in it like it was. Please don't misunderstand: I still think Pathfinder is a great game, and that the folks at Paizo are first-rate at what they do. The problem isn't Pathfinder; it's me.

On the plus side, Spes Magna isn't closing up shop. Rather, I've shifted focus to a different game system, specifically Sine Nomine's excellent Stars Without Number. I'm developing Tiamat's Throne, sci-fi/fantasy setting using the Stars Without Number core rules.

If you're curious, I've got several rough-draft excerpts up at my website.

Pity to see you leave! All the best for your future endeavors!

Thanks, Endzeitgeist!

BTW, not sure how I messed up that link in the OP. It should be like this. :)

I'm sad. I wanted more Dodeca stuff ;_;

What about Quid Novi? Will it, too, change focus, or languish and die from lack of love?

I still want to finish a couple or so Pathfinder projects. As for Quid Novi?, I'm not sure. I'd hate to let it die, so I'm leaning toward changing the focus. I must mull. :)

Lantern Lodge

You will be missed!

Sent you a PM. This post is just so you don't miss it. ;)

Given that I have Stars Without Number I think I can live with this :) It's an excellent game but lacks the high level of support that PF has. I hope you'll look into Other Dust as well (same author and basic system, same setting). Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do.

I have Other Dust. It's quite well done, IMO. :)

Excellent. Based on your PF work this should be quite good. I hope you are planning on continuing sales through Paizo.

I think that should work. I'll have to double-check with the Paizo folks to make sure I can do that. I'm pretty sure I can.

Of course, nothing is getting released for a while. I shooting for February 2013 to release the playtest document(s). I'm also debating jumping into the Kickstarter arena to purchase some good art and maybe hire somebody who can do a more professional layout.

They do sell non PF (I picked up my Other Suns on Paizo) so it should work. I like to keep my purchases down to as few sites as possible, and I've always had an excellent experience with Paizo.

I was going to say how sad it is to see you migrating to another system, Mark, but given that I've been drifting on a similar path (towards using the d20 point-buy system Eclipse rather than "straight" Pathfinder), I'll instead with you good luck!
