Arcane Archer sorcerer or wizard?

Advice

I'm designing an Arcane Archer and I was wondering what everyone thought should I make him a sorcerer for 1lv or a wizard for 1lv I'm not doing this for spells I'm doing this for the perks of being in that class he is going to be a fighter who doesn't have to pay for some of his enchantments essentially however each has a pro and each has a con this is what they are as I see them

Wizard Pro: more spells, higher lv spells at earlier levels so my Imbue arrow ability will become better faster since I"ll be able to use it wiht higher level spells con: I need INT for my spells while my "Arrow of Death's" DC increases with CHA

Sorcerer Pro: I need CHA for my spells as well as my "Arrow of Death's" DC . Con: less spells, higher lv spells at later levels levels so my Imbue arrow ability will take longer to get better since I won't be able to use it with higher level spells until later

if you know any I'm missing please add them and let me know what you think I should do and why?

Regarding the Sorcerer con of less spells. Consider taking a race that has a favored class bonus of +1 spell known. That will help all but your highest spell level (amounts to +2 spells known per spell level).

Why not go 8 levels of magus for AA? You'll have similar BAB as mage+fighter, better spellcasting, and your arcana stack with AA abilities for giving bows damage types.

Sorcerer would allow you to not have to worry about losing free spells when leveling up in arcane archer like a wizard would. Or there is always bard.

And I"m only planning on taking one level of sorcerer so making that my favored class would be a waste unless I went Half-Elf which I can't do since to be an Arcane Archer I have to be a full Elf

I need the feats and fighter class feats for my character I've go t the entire thing mapped out to level 20 except for that one class level.

what are you talking about with free spells? the only free spells I would get from either of those two classes is my bloodline spells from my sorcerer bloodline but that doesn't get any better as I level when I'm not a sorcerer.

I'm not sure when it changed, but it changed. Even with the 3.x AA, you could have been a half-elf.

These are the PF reqs for AA:

"To qualify to become an arcane archer, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.

Base Attack Bonus: +6.

Feats: Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Weapon Focus (longbow or shortbow).

Spells: Ability to cast 1st-level arcane spells."

Weird I know for a fact(since I looked it up so damn much) that in my book it says Elf as a pre-rec the glory of a first printing I guess XD

sunbeam is correct. Arcane Archers are no longer required to be Elves.
